What Do You Mean I Have Bugs Under My Gums?

If your gums look like this picture below, then you probably have gingivitis or periodontal disease.  In either case, the bacteria in your mouth may be as active as the video above.  Make sure to see your regular dentist for an oral health exam. 

 

When gingivitis is not treated, it can advance to periodontitis (which means inflammation around the teeth.) In periodontitis, gums pull away from the teeth and form pockets that are infected with bacteria. The body's immune system fights the bacteria as the plaque spreads and grows below the gum line and becomes more aggressive.
